250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS | 2021 HOUSTON SUPERCROSS
The 250 East Coast class is finally back for the last time in Houston in NRG Stadium to race the third round of the Monster Energy Supercross season before heading to Indianapolis. In the morning, there was a huge shakeup in the playing field as riders Rj Hampshire and Austin Forkner both crashed resulting in the two skipping Houston 3. The two were huge competitors in the championship hunt and gave the rest of the 250 class a run for their money in the points chase. However, this isn’t going to stop riders Christian Craig, Jett Lawrence, Colt Nichols, and more from battling it out on the longer, more technical terrain of the Houston 3 Track. The new layout features a sweeping right turn which isn’t very common in Supercross. After several first turn pileups under the NRG Stadium in the previous races, we may expect more at the night show as the riders are going to be off the back brake to make the first turn. In addition to the right first turn, the Dirt Wurx crew also added a sand section which many of the riders did not grow fond of in the previous round. Now that the sand section is also longer, we’ve already seen many take soil samples in the challenging section and can expect more action to be had. With the shakeup of the 250 class, who do you expect to walk away with the points lead and red plate? Scroll down below as we report live from Houston, Texas.

250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS
The main event for the 250 East Coast class took off and Christian Craig grabbed the holeshot. Christian’s teammate Colt Nichols followed in second place followed by 250 rookie Max Vohland. In third place sat Michael Mosiman and Joshua Varize in fourth. Jett Lawrence got a poor start and sat behind Jo Shimoda in seventh place. Michael Mosiman put pressure on Max Vohland as the two caught up to Colt Nichols. Michael Mosiman made the pass on Max Vohland but Max closed the door on Michael in the following turn and made a block pass. Max would make a mistake a few turns later and let Michael by but also lost 2 more positions to Jo Shimoda and Jett Lawrence. Jett made the pass on Jo Shimoda in the turn after the whoops with nine minutes remaining. Back up front, Christian Craig led the race with Colt Nichols following behind a second and a half away. Soon the two Star Yamaha riders ran into lap traffic and ultimately would get in the way of the two leaders. Colt Nichols slowly inched towards Christian Craig with six minutes remaining. Colt made up significant time and what turned into a second and a half lead turned into a half second lead. Colt studied Christian’s riding and started to make more gains on the red plate holder. With under 4 minutes to go, Jett Lawrence made progress to Michael Mosiman as Michael continued to run into lap traffic. With three minutes remaining, Colt Nichols made the pass on Christian Craig but Christian’s strength lies in the whoops as Christian made the push through the whoops and took back his lead. Jett ran into the side of Michael Mosiman knocking him over which let both Jett Lawrence and Jo Shimoda by. Lap traffic got in Christian’s way again and Colt made the pass. 1 minute remained and Colt had a healthy lead on the 29 bike. For the first time in two years, Colt Nichols won the Main Event.
250 HEAT 2 RACE RESULTS
The second heat race took off and the 88 of Logan Karnow took the holeshot. After the first turn a massive pileup took place and multiple riders went down. The leader, Logan Karnow flew off the track and landed in the safety net. Max Vohland led the race with Fleming just behind. Christian Craig got a horrible start but it wasn’t long till he broke through the pack and made his way to fourth place and then third. Half a lap later, he sat in second and set his eyes on the 250 rookie of Max Vohland. Colt Nichols eventually made his way into a transfer position and made his way through the pack. A lap later Colt Nichols made swift work of multiple riders and sat in third place but still eight seconds behind the two leaders. Christian Craig blitzed through the whoops and passed the 115 of Max Vohland with ease. Christian Craig would end up winning the second heat with ease.
250 HEAT 1 RACE RESULTS
The 250 East Coast riders lined up for the first heat and Lane Shaw took the holeshot. Like predicted a first turn pileup occurred with a few riders but thankfully for many, the riders escaped. Michael Mosiman sat in second behind the Australian, Jett Lawrence. On the Muc-Off Honda, Mitchell Oldenburg made the pass on Shaw for fourth place and set his eyes on Albright who sat in third. Both Jett and Michael made a huge gap within the first two laps and sat 10 seconds in front of their competition. Mitchell Oldenburg eventually made the pass on Albright and secured the third place position. Lane Shaw continued to fall back as Harriman and Osby made the pass for fifth and sixth. Thomas Do sat in seventh place after passing Lane Shaw and Dylan Woodcock made the pass for the transfer position in ninth place. Unfortunately, Dylan Woodcock went off the track at the beginning of the whoops and would lose his transfer position. Jett would comfortably win his heat race with a small lead on Michael Mosiman and a huge lead on the rest of the 250 field.
250 LCQ RACE RESULTS
Simonson scored the holeshot with Kevin Moranz just behind. Kevin Moranz and Logan Karnow made the pass on Simonson for first and second. There was a huge battle for the transfer position between four riders. Kevin Moranz would redeem his heat race finish with a win in the LCQ.
