250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS // 2023 SAN DIEGO SUPERCROSS (UPDATED)

250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS // 2023 SAN DIEGO SUPERCROSS

The San Diego Supercross is underway and you guessed it, Jett Lawrence was the quickest rider in qualifying. However, Jett’s day wasn’t without a little controversy. He crashed in the second qualifying and it was a pretty funny dismount, watch the video here. RJ Hampshire was second fastest no his Husqvarna headed into the night show. The SnapDragon stadium is brand new to San Diego and it’s working great for everyone who made it here on time, but for those who showed up just before the night show, the parking was full and they’ve had to resort to other parking lots at Costco nearby or even in neighborhoods walking distance from the stadium.

250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS

Jett Lawrence wins two in a row.

The 250 Main Event started with Phil Nicoletti, Enzo Lopes and Jett Lawrence up front. Jett had the lead and Phil was second and Enzo held on strong in third before making a quick pass on his teammate, Nicoletti, for second. Cameron McAdoo came and passed Lopes for second and held it for most of the race until RJ Hampshire put on a late race charge, like he did at A1, and passed him just before the end of the race. Jett Lawrence rode another smart and consistent Main Event to take his second win in a row.

250 HEAT RACE 2 RESULTS

Jett Lawrence is on the move.

The start of the second 250SX Heat race had Levi Kitchen with the holeshot and Jett Lawrence hot on his tail. Jett made the pass in the first rhythm lane and then in turn four, Levi Kitchen ran inside on Jett and bumped him, but Jett still hit the triple and Levi could only double it after losing his momentum. Then, after doubling the triple Pierce Brown was able to sneak inside of Levi Kitchen for second place. Kitchen pushed hard to pass Brown back, and he was gaining time in the whoop section and by scrubbing the triple, but he couldn’t make the move. In the end it was Lawrence, Brown, Kitchen, 1, 2, 3.

250 HEAT RACE 1 RESULTS

RJ Hampshire.

The first 250 Heat race of the night started off with Enzo Lopes out front after he got the holeshot. RJ Hampshire was close behind, but Lopes kept him at bay for the first few laps. On the first lap BarX Suzuki rider Derek Drake went down with Cameron McAdoo and another rider in the turn before the triple. A few laps in, Enzo Lopes let RJ Hampshire pass him and he snuck into second to watch RJ’s lines. Unfortunately, Colby Copp, a rider out of NorCal, went down in the whoop section hard, causing a red flag to the race.

Because the race was past 3 laps complete, with less then 90-percent of it done, the race was restarted with a staggered start. On the restart, Enzo Lopes was the first rider positioned because he was leading when Colby Copp crashed. (no this doesn’t make sense to us either since RJ Hampshire passed him before the red flag came out). Enzo led for another lap before RJ Hampshire made the pass to get the win. Cameron McAdoo came from behind to finish 5th after his first lap crash before the restart.

Enzo Lopes has been very impressive this year. He’s making the privateer ClubMx Yamaha team look great.
