450 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS | 2020 REDBUD PRO MOTOCROSS NATIONAL 2

The 2020 RedBud National #2 is officially here and it’s Round 5 of the 2020 AMA National season and the second part of the RedBud National double header. After racing on muddy, deep and rutted tracks for the first three races, the RedBud National on Friday was a much nicer track to race on. Yes, it was still rough, but the moisture of the dirt wasn’t muddy at anytime. The good conditions provided an exceptional race track that was fast, yet rough. Eli Tomac has had a rough go to the season, but after winning at Ironman, he was expected to continue his winning ways and gain points on the red plate holder Zach Osborne. However, bad starts hindered Tomac at Round 4 and Zach Osborne had his starts dialed and was able to dominate the 450 class by going 1-1 and extending his points lead over Marvin Musquin,

Chase Sexton has been looking great on his new factory Honda HRC ride, unfortunately, Chase had a big crash off the Larocco’s leap at the end of the second 450 Qualifying session. Chase was able to get up right away, remount his bike and ride back to the mechanics area, however he did look pretty dizzy and banged up when he did. We hope that Chase is ok and that he’ll be good to go racing today at RedBud.

Joey Savatgy was the fastest qualifier in the first 450 session of the day, but it was Marvin Musquin who dropped into the 2:03 range to score the fastest overall Qualifying time in the second session. Adam Cianciarulo had a rough go in his first session with multiple crashes, but he was able to turn his day around in the second session and score the third fastest time behind Musquin and Savatgy.

450 GROUP A QUALIFYING SESSION 1 RESULTS

Joey Savatgy has had a rough go so far this season, but he’s going fast right now at RedBud as he scored the fastest qualifying time in the first 450 Group A session. 

Qualifying is underway and it was JGR Suzuki rider, Joey Savatgy who logged the fastest time of the first 450 Group A Qualifying session. Marvin Musquin was close behind him on his KTM and Justin Barcia, Blake Baggett and Eli Tomac rounded out the top five. Surprisingly, Zach Osborne was only able to log 15th fastest time and Adam Cianciarulo was 42nd quickest in the first session after crashing multiple times while on his fast laps.
