450 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS | 2021 BUDDS CREEK NATIONAL

It’s the ninth round of the season and it’s also our return to Budds Creek as the beautiful track was unfortunately skipped last year thanks to the heavy Covid-19 restrictions placed across the country. Thankfully for us, the restrictions have lightened up this year and we get to spend more time watching some exciting racing. In the 450 class, there hasn’t been any rider in particular that has dominated qualifying like Justin Cooper in the 250 class, but you can bet that riders Ken Roczen, Dylan Ferrandis, Eli Tomac, and a handful of others are going to be spotted in the top 5. 450 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Chase Sexton landed in fourth place in qualifying. Chase has been consistently running in the top 5 but mistakes have been holding back the 23 during the races.

The track had shaped fairly decent but techical by the time the second qualifying session came around for the second qualifying session for 450 Group A. Ken Roczen was quick to get an insanely fast lap time just beating out Dylan Ferrandis for the top spot in qualifying. In third place sat Eli Tomac and Chase Sexton in fourth place. Cooper Webb set a very fast qualifying time landing in the fifth place spot with Rocky Mountain’s Justin Bogle getting sixth. Right before qualifying ended, Dylan Ferrandis was added to the list of riders affected by a broken chain.

450 FIRST QUALIFYING SESSION

Dylan Ferrandis has a huge 39 point lead over Ken Roczen but with a late season charge being put on by his competitor, the championship may not easily be handed to Dylan.

Both Chase Sexton and Marvin Musquin surprised us by knocking out the fastest qualifying times in the first session. The two landed in the 1:53 lap time margin with Ken Roczen getting third and a 1:54.082 lap time. Eli Tomac scored a fourth place just .700 behind Kenny with the points leader, Dylan Ferrandis getting seventh.

Aaron’s performance the weekend before in the first moto was quite remarkable but his disastrous and bizarre crash would take him out of the weekend. We’re looking forward to see how he performs this weekend.
