450 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS | 2021 INDIANAPOLIS SUPERCROSS

The teams have made their way to Indianapolis, Indiana for the fourth round of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season. Coming into the fourth round, the points chase is incredibly close with Ken Roczen holding the lead by just one point with Cooper Webb and Justin Barcia tied for second in the points chase. Eli Tomac sits right behind the three with a four-way tie between Dylan Ferrandis, Adam Cianciarulo, Justin Brayton, and Malcolm Stewart all having 51 points. Pretty crazy right? However round four will be a test of technical skill for the premier class as the track contains various technical obstacles such as giant doubles over the first turn. So who do you think will be the fastest 450 rider under the Lucas Oil Stadium lights? Will we see normal top qualifiers like Ken Roczen, Adam Cianciarulo, and Eli Tomac sit on top of the leaderboard or will we see one of the many other fast premier riders put down the fastest lap time? Find out down below as we report LIVE from Indianapolis, Indiana.

450 OVERALL QUALIFYING

Eli Tomac has been qualifying well already under the Lucas Oil Stadium roof.

Cooper Webb took an early lead at the very beginning of the second qualifying session for the Group A 450s. However, Eli Tomac would sneak ahead of the number 2 and get the fastest lap time but shortly after lose it to Marvin Musquin. Red plate holder, Ken Roczen soon moved to the first place spot only two laps in and the top three riders were already in 47 second lap times. Eli Tomac would then bump ahead of Ken Roczen for first place with a 47.19. Zach Osborne also put down a very fast lap and move up to fourth place ahead of Cooper Webb. Marvin Musquin then also ran a very fast lap jumping ahead of Ken Roczen for second place. With three minutes left, Tomac continued to hold onto the fastest lap time with his teammate Adam Cianciarulo jumping up to third place. From first to nineteenth, there was only a 2 second gap out of the Group A 450s. The top 8 riders rested in the 47 second mark while 9th through 18th were all in the 48 second lap time. Eli Tomac remained to have the fastest lap time out of the 450s.

450 GROUP A FIRST QUALIFYING SESSIONJustin Barcia may not be the fastest in qualifying but he’s shown that qualifying first doesn’t always matter when it comes to the night show.

What do you think Eli is trying to describe with his hands?

Adam Cianciarulo took the lead for the first group A qualifying session for the premier class followed by red plate holder Ken Roczen. If you thought the 47 second lap time was impressive for the 250s, it only took one lap for that time to get matched for the 450s as Ken Roczen hopped on top of the leaderboard with a 47.4. Eli Tomac sat in second place followed by Marvin Musquin and Adam Cianciarulo in third and fourth. Adam Cianciarulo made the pass on Marvin Musquin for third place and Zach Osborne moved up to fifth place. Jason Anderson also made progress on the leaderboard moving up many positions to sit in fifth place. With 3 minutes left, Dylan Ferrandis sat in seventh place and Justin Barcia sat in eighth place. Justin Barcia had qualified well for one of the rounds but he’s also shown that his qualifying times does not matter as he’s easily capable of jumping into the front of the pack when the gate drops in the Heats and Main. Eli Tomac got close to Ken’s time but it was too late when the checkered flag flew as Roczen held the fastest qualifying time.
