The premier 450 class of Supercross racing is back in Lucas Oil Stadium for the sixth round of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season. The track proved to be difficult for the riders as we saw a lot of crashes at Indy 3, but the technical track also made for a variety of race lines creating more passing opportunities. The majority of the turns are right-handers including the first turn. We’ve seen right handed first turns be chaos many times before because the riders have to decide whether they should put their inside foot out, or use the rear brake coming into the turn. Some 450 riders shined in the qualifying sessions including KTM factory riders, Cooper Webb and Marvin Musquin. Also, Adam Cianciarulo, and Malcolm Stewart were quick as well. After qualifying had finished, the track had already become super rough as large ruts had formed. The Indianapolis 3 dirt is even more hard packed than the last two races. Since the dirt has been inside, out of the elements, the warm stadium has allowed the dirt to dry out a little bit and catch some of the riders off guard. Coming into Round 6, Ken Roczen had two wins in-a-row. Find out down the results from Indy 3 below as we report LIVE from Lucas Oil Stadium.

Ken Roczen wins three in a row!

Ken Roczen grabbed the holeshot with Barcia, Webb, Cianciarulo and Tomac behind him on the opening lap. Justin Barcia trailed Roczen and surprisingly he ran up the inside and hit Ken Roczen in the middle of the turn. Ken was turning down and Barcia was still going up. Neither rider went down, but they both came to a stop. Eli Tomac passed his teammate Adam Cianciarulo for fourth place and started to pressure Cooper Webb right after. Malcolm Stewart ran sixth with Marvin Musquin right behind him after 8-minutes of racing. Ken Roczen had a 2.1-second lead on Barcia at the 10-minute mark with Cooper Webb 2-seconds behind him. With 5-minutes to go, Cooper Webb was able to pass Barcia and Eli Tomac made his way passed too, but then Barcia quickly got around Eli again to get back into third. The whoop section and flat corner afterwards was making the difference for the front runners and they yo-yoed each time they went through that section. Vince Friese unfortunately caused issues for Ken and Cooper when they lapped him, but even worse he cross jumped Justin Barcia and Barcia landed on him going down and taking Eli Tomac with him. With those two down, Marvin Musquin jumped to third. On the last lap, Cooper Webb was all over Ken Roczen, but Ken was able to hold him off and take the win for the third race in a row.

After a cold week in Indiana, the riders and team members are excited to head to Orlando, Florida.

Justin Brayton wins the 450 LCQ.

Justin Brayton went down when he connected with Malcolm Stewart in his Heat race and was forced to go through the LCQ to qualify into the Main. Justin got a great start, but he drifted wide and Cade Clason dove underneath him and knocked him back a few positions. Then, Brayton had his work cut out for him as the 450 LCQ riders were all bouncing off each other as they fought for the top-four positions. Justin didn’t slide through the pack quickly or easily, Cade Clason put up a fight, but finally Brayton was able to get around him. At the finish, Adam Enticknap took the final transfer spot while his teammate Brandon Hartranft missed out on the Main Event by one position.

Justin Barcia won the second 450 Heat race after Musquin went down and handed him the lead.

Marvin Musquin grabbed the holeshot in 450 Heat 2 with Jason Anderson, Justin Bogle and Justin Barcia behind him early. Cooper Webb was buried back in the pack, but made quick passes into fourth early. Adam Cianciarulo was seventh, but he crashed in the tight corner after the whoops and dropped back to eighth. Then, while still leading, Marvin Musquin went down in the whoops and allowed Justin Barcia to take the lead. At the same time, Cooper Webb was battling with Jason Anderson and he was able to get into second. Webb qualified fastest today and he’s looking great on the tight and technical Indy 3 track. Dylan Ferrandis and Aaron Plessinger battled in fourth and fifth, but then Plessinger tipped over in a corner. This time, not the corner after the whoops, but the corner before it. Then, on the last lap, Justin Bogle fell in the whoops too.

Adam Cianciarulo was another victim who fell in the corner after the whoops in the second 450 Heat race.

Ken Roczen wins 450 Heat 1.

Ken Roczen picked up where he left off at the last two Rounds by grabbing the holeshot and the early lead in the first 450 Heat race of the night. Then, Ken pulled a gap between he and Eli early on. On the bubble for Qualifying position was Carlen Gardner and Joey Savatgy. Then, Kyle Chisholm crashed in the corner after the whoop section and this moved Carlen Gardner and Joey Savatgy from 9th and 10th into 8th and 9th, allowing both of them to be into the Main. On the last lap, Eli Tomac was able to completely close the gap and finish right behind Roczen at the finish.
