450 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS: THE OLD MAN WINS & TAKES OVER THE 450 POINTS LEAD

Tony Cairoli is now 9 GP wins away from 100 wins.

Nine-time World Motocross Champion Antonio Cairoli has surprised everyone, not only by winning his 91st Grand Prix, but by taking over the points lead in the 2020 FIM 450 World Motocross Championship. Cairoli just turned 35 a week ago and took the win at the third of the Faenza triple headers with 2-2 result. The old man will have the red plate at the next GP in Mantova on September 27.

Tim Gajser won the second moto for a 5-1 day, which was good enough to get second away from Jorge Prado’s 1-6

Second place went to Tim Gajser with the exact same 5-1 results as last week at Faenza #2. Faenza #2 winner Jorge Prado stated strong with a win in the first moto at Faenza #3, but a sixth in moto two droppe dhim back to third.6 scores.

Cairoli leads the Championship with 285 points. Tim Gajser has 278 points. Pre-season favorite and points leader (up until Faenza #3) Jeffrey Herlings is still in third place, but Jeremy Seewer is only 8 points behind him. Herlings is out with a fracture to his neck. KTM says that he will not be back until Mantova #3 (on October 4).
