MATT MOSS INJURED AT OZ NATIONAL: HITS BOBCAT ON TRACK

Matt Moss was hurt by a strange case of brain fade from the track crew.

During Super pole qualifying at the Shepparton round of the Australian Nationals Matt Moss collided head on with a Bobcat on the back side of double. The extent of the injuries is not clear at this time, but it has been reported as a broken leg and wrist—which is good considering the violence of the crash

Official press release: Williams Event Management and Motorcycling Australia wish to advise that an incident has occurred at round seven of the 2015 MX Nationals in Shepparton this morning, involving Team Motul Suzuki’s Matt Moss. The incident occurred during GoPro Super Pole where an undirected piece of machinery entered the track, causing a collision with defending MX Nationals champion Moss. Moss was immediately attended to by the Racesafe Medical Team and has been transferred to hospital by ambulance in a stable condition for further assessment of his injuries. Williams Event Management, Motorcycling Australia and the event Steward has now commenced a thorough investigation into the incident and will provide updates on Matt’s condition as they become available.

As you all know, in recent months the company has gone through several legal proceedings in order to renegotiate the debt and to continue operations. Unfortunately, despite the valiant efforts made to achieve this goal, it has been impossible to reach and finally they have declared to proceed with the liquidation of Gas Gas Motos SA.

In this process, the current management team, the receivers and the council representatives of all employees are working full-throttle to collect all of the necessary information to begin the process of selling the factory and to close the subsequent sale process with potential buyers in the fastest way possible. The target set by the sale of the production unit is to be able to reactivate the Gas Gas Motos factory in a way that allows us to produce our motorcycles, both enduro and trial, and ensure a solid and sustainable long term viability of the company. During this stage of the sale process of the production unit, we at Gas Gas will make our utmost efforts to ensure the level of service in the areas of spare parts as well as in the after-sales department in order to avoid penalizing our customers during this period.

RYAN VILLOPOTO GETS A LETTER FROM THE FIM

Ryan Villopoto sent out a copy of the letter he received from the FIM about his retirement. He thought it was nice. We think it’s nice. And we don’t think the AMA would do the same thing. However, the quote from the letter about “ended your chances of becoming the first American to win the FIM MXGP World Title,” does a disservice to the Americans that came to Europe long before Ryan Villopoto and won the title. Do they really think that changing the name to “MXGP” negates the achievements of those who came before?
