AARON PLESSINGER JOINS 7 OTHER FACTORY 450 RIDERS TO MISS 2021 FOX RACEWAY NATIONAL 2
Yesterday we found out that Chase Sexton wasn’t going to race at Pala and the day of the race, Star Racing Yamaha announced that Aaron Plessinger wasn’t going to race either due to ongoing issues from his crash at Unadilla. After a strong 2021 Pro Motocross season, Chase Sexton announced via Instagram on Friday afternoon that he will miss the 11th round at Fox Raceway. Sadly, both the 250 and 450 classes are missing a total of 20 factory riders, 19 of which started the series earlier this summer at Fox Raceway and were injured mid-season and Jordon Smith was the only factory rider currently injured who didn’t up for an Outdoor Round this year. Read what Sexton and Plessinger had to say below:
Aaron Plessinger: “Although I would really love to go racing this weekend, I just can’t continue to put my body through the motos knowing that it’s not up for it. I’m going do all that I can to hopefully make the last race. Thanks for all the support!”
Chase Sexton: “Unfortunately I will not be lining up tomorrow for round 11 of @promotocross .
After tests and an ultrasound this week I have found that I have an enlarged spleen and that it wouldn’t be safe to race with it. I’m gutted not to be able to race and see all you California fans. Further updates will be coming soon thank you for the support.”
The HRC Honda 450 rider also posted after the Ironman National last weekend that he had been struggling with a sickness for a few days leading up to Round 10 in Indiana. Chase Sexton said: “P5 Overall at Ironman. Very average finish but I’ve been dealing with a sickness the past few days and honestly didn’t even know if I’d be able to line up for the motos today. So I’m happy with the fight I had today and was able to salvage something out of it. Now I’m glad I have some time to get healthy and get ready for next weekend!”
