CHRISTIAN CRAIG OUT OF SALT LAKE CITY 1

CHRISTIAN CRAIG OUT OF SALT LAKE CITY 1

One of the most anticipated riders for the 2021 season is unfortunately out after sustaining a hard fall during qualifying. Christian Craig had a scary fall through one of the rhythm sections and landed hard on his feet, rolling his ankles. He was then driven off by the medical crew holding his leg. Before the Heats began, Christian Craig and his wife Paige had announced that he would be lining up for the Heat race, but it was made clear that Christian was not feeling right as the second Heat took off. Christian sat in last place rolling all the obstacles and eventually pulled off the track. We were hoping the 29 would do well so that the battle for the championship between Colt Nichols and Christian Craig would be even closer.

Now Colt Nichols is almost guaranteed a championship win if he stays healthy on the bike. It’s amazing what Craig went throughout the year, battling his teammate and going through a massive crash just before the East Coast races went on a hiatus. Now the Star Yamaha team shows just how strong their team is, with both leaders in the points leading their respective championships with a massive points lead.

Christian Craig announced on Instagram: “And in the blink of an eye it all changes. Crazy how one minute everything is clicking and the next you’re on the ground. This sport is no joke. I tried everything to race but just couldn’t put any pressure on my leg. As of now, it looks like a fractured fibula and ankle sprain. Going to get checked out at home and get ready for outdoors. Thanks everyone for the support. Going to keep my head held high. Big thanks to everyone at alpinestars mobile medic.”
