Dubya USA has announced their title sponsorship of the 30th Annual World Vet Championships on November 1-2, 2014, at Glen Helen Raceway. The Dubya USA World Vet Championships will pit riders of all ages and nationalities against Glen Helen’s world famous AMA National and FIM Grand Prix track. Dubya, a company that specializes in building high performance racing wheelsets, may seem like a new sponsor for the World Vet, but that is far from the truth. Dubya’s Kristin White Anderson is the daughter of AMA Hall of Famer Tom White, who not only created the event 30 years ago, but sponsored it through his White Brothers company for two decades. Now Kristin and Dubya have stepped up to continue the White family tradition. Doug Dubach is the king of Vet racers. Dubach, a former AMA Supercross winner, has won 22 times across the Over-30, Over-40 and Over-50 classes. Those 22 wins include 11 Over-30 wins, 10 Over-40 crowns and 1 Over-50 title. He has also won two age classes on the same weekend 3 times.

The late Zoli Berenyi (left) won 12 titles in the Over-50, Over-60 and Over-70 classes. Berenyi is second on the all-time win list to Doug Dubach (and one win ahead of Alan Olson). Lars Larsson (right) won the Over-60 class in 2001 and ten years later won the Over-70 crown (which he repeated in again in 2012)

The Over-70 class wasn’t instituted until 2001 (because it required the original racers from the 1960s to turn 70) and it is hard to win multiple Championships because of the wear and tear on 70-year-old bodies. However, in the 13 years of the class three riders have won 9 of the titles between them— Zoli Berenyi (5), Feets Minert (2) and Lars Larsson, above, (2).
