GODSPEED! AUB LEBARD JR. (1921-2012)

Motorcycle racing legend Aub LeBard, Jr. passed away on December 7, 2012, in La Habra, California. He was 91 years old. Aub LeBard was co-owner of the LeBard & Underwood motorcycle shop in Los Angeles (which was founded in 1946), as well as a top off-road racer in the 1940s and 1950s. The BSA rider won the Big Bear National Enduro three years (1949, 1950, 1951) and was a top desert racer of his era.

An AMA member since 1936 and long-time AMA District 37 official, Aub was on the founding board of the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) and was the founding president of the California Motorcycle Dealers Association. LeBard also supported the sport as a sponsor of major racers over the years, most notably Chuck Feets Minert, Dave Aldana and John McLaughlin.

The La Habra, California dealership now carries Honda and Yamaha and remains under the management of his son Aubrey and daughter Sharron.
