On Thursday April 21, 2016 Motorcycle racer, enthusiast and museum owner Kelly Owen suffered a stroke and passed away at 58 years old. Kelly had been planning on going with fellow museum owner Tom White to the “Ride for Kids” Dual Sport ride the previous Saturday, when he called Tom and told him that he didn’t feel well. Kelly’s wife, Senene, is a nurse and she got him to the ICU as fast as possible. Kelly succumbed to the stroke on Thursday.

Tom White said, “Kelly was an amazing man! He actually raced Pro back in the Saddleback, Carlsbad and Ascot days. His favorite mount was a Penton. He went on to build a very successful business as a contractor for cold storage. Name any big food suppliers, and they all did business with Clarion Construction. But, most important to him was his family, friends, and his motorcycle collection at over 90 machines. He restored them himself. I’ve never met anyone that accomplished so much as a leader, friend, restorer, and husband, and father.”

Our prayers and good wishes go out to the Owen family.
