Four-time World Champ Jeffrey Herlings made his racing comeback eight months since he damaged his neck in Italy last year, but faced tough competition from factory Yamaha MXGP rookie Ben Watson and a host of home-grown talent in round two of the Revo ACU British motocross championship. Plus, after more than a year with no spectators at UK racing, the gates were thrown open to a sell-out crowd of 4000 fans. There were 125 and women’s support classes. Not to mention the MX2 races and, of course, the big boy 450 showdown.

The fans packed into the historic old-school Lyng circuit to see riders like Tommy Searle, Evgeny Bobryshev, Conrad Mewse (MX2 winner), Dylan Walsh, Adam Sterry, Liam Everts (with dad Stefan there to cheer him on), Shaun Simpson and Steven Clarke.

Ben Watson (919) holeshots the first 450 moto.

The winner of the 250 class at the British  Championship race at Lyng was Conrad Mewse.

Stefan Everts has been taking young son Liam to as many races in as many countries as possible to get him ready for the future.

Jeffrey Herlings (84) used a 2-1 to beat Yamaha MXGP rider Ben Watson’s 1-2 at Lyng.
