LANGSTON BLOWS IT BIG–MARCH 24,

Imagine the embarassment of winning your first 125 Supercross race, only to fall down while showing off to the crowd. South African Grant Langston had the win in the in bag. It would have been the 125 World Champions first-ever 125 West win. But…and it’s a big but, he did a one-hander over a small double and cased the landing. By the time he got back up he had been passed by Travis Preston, Greg Schnell and Rodrig Thain.

Team Suzuki’s Danny Smith missed the race with a broken hand, and that relieved all the pressure from 125 points leader Ernesto Fonseca. Fonseca finished sixth, but maintained his 125 West points lead over Smith (who didn’t lose second in points because third in points, Justin Buckelew, finished a distant ninth).

Even though Langston failed to win his first-ever 125 Supercross, Travis Preston did the deed on a Husqvarna. It’s Husky’s first win in the 125 class.
