MICHAEL MOSIMAN INJURED: OUT FOR 2021 INDIANAPOLIS SUPERCROSS 3
Michael Mosiman, who is the little brother of MXA‘s Assistant Editor, Josh Mosiman went down in qualifying at the final Indianapolis Supercross round. The factory GasGas rider’s crash inside Lucas Oil Stadium resulted in a broken hand. He broke it in three places and will, unfortunately, require surgury. Michael was making progress with each and every round and became a contender to win races. During the most recent 250SX Main Event on Tuesday, Michael led 7-laps of the 250 Main Event in Indy before a lapped rider crashed in front of him and caused him to lose the lead.
The 250 East Coast division has seen many of the top riders injured already. Austin Forkner, RJ Hampshire and Max Vohland are more front runners missing from the line up at Indy #3 and Jett Lawrence is riding banged up as well after his big crashes on Tuesday. With the 250 class is split up into two separate divisions, East and West, it’s almost time for the East division to take a break will the West riders get their time to shine. The 250 East division will race the Indy 3 Supercross and the Orlando 1 Supercross next Saturday. Then, the East riders will take a 10-week break before racing at the second-to-last Round in Salt Lake City, Utah, and then lining up for the 250 East/West shootout at the 2021 Supercross season finale in Salt Lake City. Michael will definitely miss the tonight’s race and the Orlando Supercross. We do expect his hand to be healed in time for the final two races in Salt Lake City.
