Last week at the 2021 Houston Supercross 3, Jett Lawence took GasGas’ Michael Mosiman out by cutting across the inside of a bowl turn and slamming Mosiman’s body and front wheel. Mosiman went down and Lawrence made light-hearted jokes about it on the podium. Most Supercross coaches, including Lawrence’s, would have told the young Honda rider after the H3 race that you don’t go out of your way to make enemies when you are trying to win a championship. Whether Jett Lawrence got the message from his coach or not, he got the message loud and clear from Michael Mosiman on the very first lap of the 250 East heat race at the 2021 Indianapolis 1 Supercross. Mosiman’s move was cleaner than Lawrence’s from the week before, but probably the best learning experience that a cocky Pro can learn early in his career.
