TWO-STROKE SPOTLIGHT: 1992 YAMAHA WR250 CONVERTED INTO A YZ250

After restoration.

“The bike started out as a 1992 WR250, mainly as we wanted to use a wide-ratio gearbox. The frame was stripped, blasted, reinforced in key areas, and painted in 2 packs (I’m not too fond of powder coating as it tends to chip badly on MX bikes). The suspension was rebuilt & revalved in house using Teknik springs, wheels relaced with DID Dirtstar rims with stainless steel spokes, seat foam by Guts racing, new Mikuni carb, Clarke tank, UFO plastics, pink EK chain, Supersprox sprockets, Pro Circuit pipe, DEP silencer, Kenda Millville 2 tires, Goodrige brake lines, All Balls Bearings. Engine build by Reco MX, engine mods consisted of really smoothing out the power, the engine is super electric, to suit Vet racing.”

MXA TEAM TESTED // TEAR-OFF GOGGLE GASKET

A Tear-Off Gasket is exactly what it sounds like. It is a two-sided gasket-style sticker that is applied to the goggle’s lens to ensure that no dirt, dust or water can get between laminated tear-offs and the goggle lens. Each Tear-Off Gasket is specifically cut to fit each goggle brand’s lens shape.

VERDICT: The Tear-Off Gaskets do exactly what they claim to do. Typically, a set of laminated tear-offs will accumulate some dirt or dust behind them after being roosted, but we could use the same goggles all day with the Tear-Off Gasket in place. They are available for selected models of Scott, Oakley, EKS Brand, Fox, 100%, Fly and Leatt goggles.

DIGITS: $16.13 (5-pack), $32.26 (20-pack)— www.tearoffgaskets.com or (825) 993-6324.
