Now we know this is a total photoshopped photo of a Kawasaki KX300 two stroke, but it is just too beautiful not to wish and post. There is no doubt that the public demands two-strokes to make a big return.

KEN ROCZEN CELEBRATES HIS CHAMPIONSHIP WITH KTM

 CRUZTOOLS TOOL KIT

SKDMXOff-Road Kit is compact, capable and affordable

Press Release: Off-road motorcycles and quads, which often venture into remote areas, suffer more abuse than other types of Powersports vehicles. Experienced riders therefore know to carry tools with them. Unfortunately, OEM tool kits lack quality and content or are missing altogether. While the DMX Fanny Pack and Fender Mount tool kits from CruzTOOLS are highly regarded, some riders prefer a smaller or lower-cost option.

To address the need for tech-grade tools in a compact and affordable package, CruzTOOLS developed the SPEEDKIT DMX. It includes 10mm and 12mm combination wrenches, a 14mm x 17mm open end wrench, 8mm nut driver, 5-in-1 screwdriver, locking pliers, four each hex and star wrenches, 2-in-1 spark plug socket with handle, and low-range tire pressure gauge.

Everything fits into a durable pouch that measures only 7î x 2î x 2î (18 x 5 x 5cm) and weighing 1.75 lbs. (0.8 kg.), fitting into many OEM tool cavities. In keeping with its outdoor theme, the pouch sports a ìcamoî material pattern.

Our full-feature DMX fanny pack and fender mount kits have set the standard for off-road tool packs, stated Dan Parks, President of CruzTOOLS. Our goal was therefore to condense their essence into the format of our popular SPEEDKIT Tool Kits. And I think a lot of riders will also really love the camo pouch! The SPEEDKIT DMX retails for $39.95; part number SKDMX.

CruzTOOLS provides highly functional tools and tool kits to the motorcycle, music product, and general aviation industries, which are sold through dealers and distributors internationally. For more information, please contact CruzTOOLS at PO Box 250, Standard, CA 95373 U.S.A.; toll-free 888-909-8665; fax 209-536-0463; or visit their web site at www.cruztools.com.

HOW LUCKY ARE WE TO RIDE NEW BIKES BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE?

YZ450F Introduction
yz1400

There are not many things that the MXA crew likes attending more than a new bike introduction. We get to ride the new bikes before the public — along with getting treated like kings on these occasions. Maybe they think fine food and killer tracks will sway our opinion, but most should already know there is no bribing the wrecking crew.

Daryl Ecklund does a patented MXA berm blowout.

On this fine day at Cahuilla Creek Raceway we brought out four of our very own. Daryl Ecklund (photo/video rider), John Basher (photographer), Dennis Stapleton (test rider), and Travis Fant (videographer). While there was only one 2015 YZ450F to ride what were the others to do? Well, this is what the normal routine looks like at an intro. On this occasion three out of the the four of us got up at 4:30am to make the three plus hour trek up to Cahuilla.

Daryl get off the YZ450F and picks up a camera to capture a covered-up Dennis Stapleton destroying a turn.

First on the agenda when we arrived was to scarf down some complimentary food. Then John and Travis ventured off to find the perfect place to shoots still shoots of the bike. In the meantime, Daryl got geared up and ready for John and Travis to capture action shoots. This takes some time depending if Daryl and John ares on their A games — but there are never dull moments. John is Daryl’s cheerleader egging him on to push his limit. Most shoots end up with at least one tip over and obnoxious laughter. Dennis Stapleton waited patiently, networking with the Yamaha crew members, untillhe was able to start his part of the day and start testing and breaking down this new machine.

On this occasion John brought out his YZ125. Daryl brought a camera and for the very first time was on the other side of the fence, shooting photos instead of being shot. John is taking him under his wing trying to teach him the in’s and out’s of photography. Daryl shot aimlessly at John and Dennis while they spun laps. Daryl seemed unhappy with his shots. He thought this would be a breeze, but in reality all the settings on the camera were more complicated to him than a senior citizens first day with an iPhone.

Here John Basher rails around on a YZ125. You can always count on John to be the brightest person on and off the track.

We all rode the finely prepped track till our hands were raw. We got some great settings of the 2015 YZ450F to start off with for our grueling testing process which you will see in the December issue of MXA.
