On the last 2021 World Motocross Championship calendar, the MXGP series was supposed to start on May 23, 2021, in Oss, Holland, but that is no longer the case. Although MXGP has yet to make an official announcement, the local Oss organising group has called the Dutch Grand Prix off as the coronavirus situation in Holland is still a big issue. Oss organiser Ebert Dollevoet says that they are waiting for the MXGP group to come out with a new 2021 Grand Prix schedule and hope to have a new date later in the season for the Oss race.

Unfortunately, the 2021 French Grand Prix at Saint-Jean d’Angély on October 10, has been canceled by the local organiser. The track could not get permission to hold the race with an acceptable number of spectators allowed by the French government. Saint-Jean d’Angély also tried to get MXGP’s Infront sanctioning body to lower the sanction fees to make the race feasible with the reduced spectator limit, but they could not come to terms. The French GP date is still on the 2021 MXGP schedule because another French track, most likely Ernee, could step up and take the date.

Additionally, the British Grand Prix, promoted by Steve Dixon, which is not on the current 2021 series schedule, is optimistic that there will be a British GP at Matterley Basin in 2021. And with the cancellation of France and four To Be Announced (TBA) races on the 2021 MXGP schedule it looks like Walmart Parking lot could have a good shot of getting a 2021 Grand Prix.

On a side note, Infront is in the process of negotiations for an MXGP race to be held at the Riola Sardo track in Sardinia, Italy. There is no firm information about the Sardinia race, but it could be held on October 31 (where Infront currently has a TBA date for a proposed Italian Grand Prix).
