NO SHOCK AT THE 500 GP

Joel Smets dominated the Australian 500cc GP opener as expected. Smets, now mounted on a KTM (instead of his traditional Husaberg), won both motos handily beating Yamaha mounted Marnicq Bervoets (2-3). Darrell King (6-2) was third, Local hero Andrew McFarlane (3-9) fourth, current 500 World Champion Andrea Bartolini (7-4) fifth and vacationing (from the AMA Supercross series) Shayne King (5-7) was sixth.
