POLITICS & MOTOCROSS: IT LOOKS LIKE THE GRAND PRIX OF THE UKRAINE WILL BE CANCELED

Where in the world is Ukraine? Just take a right at Poland.

WIth the Ukraine on the verge of civil war, it doesn’t seem likely that the Ukrainian Grand Prix will be held. In fact, Youthstream told all of the GP teams not to buy tickets to travel to the Ukraine on August 17. Youthstream’s Giuseppe Luongo said at the press conference in Qatar, “We will look at this race and decide what we do with this race. Maybe we have to cancel…because if the problems there continue we will not go to Ukraine.”

While the Ukraine race isn’t until August, the decision about whether to go or not has to be made within the next month or two—partially to see if an alternate GP can be found or to allow the teams to make plans.
