STRANGE NEWS! EUROS TO GET AMA NATIONALS SHOWN LIVE ON MOTORS TV, BUT NOT THE GP’S

From www.MotorsTV.com: The most competitive motocross series in the world, the AMA Motocross Championship will be screened live and exclusive this year on Motors TV.

All 12 rounds of America’s outdoor motocross championship will be broadcast primetime on Saturday nights starting from May 21at the season-opening event at Hangtown.

The best riders from AMA Supercross, one of the discipline’s most spectacular championships and also screened on Motors TV, will head directly to the outdoor series, meaning the action continues throughout the year on the High Speed Television channel, while double MX2 World Champion, Frenchman Marvin Musquin, also lines up in the series for his US debut.

However, just days ahead of the start of the 2011 season, Motors TV has unfortunately been forced to abandon its plans to cover the FIM World Motocross Championship. The news comes after MX promoters, Youthstream, made the last-minute decision to market only the series’ TV rights, excluding any other media. Motors TV is therefore unable to exploit any motocross images on its alternative media platforms and has regrettably, and due to circumstances completely outside of its control, been forced to end its multi-year partnership with Youthstream.

Finally, to reinforce its motorbike coverage, which remains a priority for the channel, Motors TV has acquired the rights to the Italian Speed Championship (CIV) which will be screened live from the opening round at Misano on 10 April.

Therefore, while the programme line-up may have changed, the High Speed Television channel’s schedule remains of the highest quality.
