Six-time 250 World Champion Joel Robert could ride his bike faster than anyone in the 250 World Championships, but if he raced it as fast as it would go, it wouldn’t last. Before Roger DeCoster and Joel Robert were teammates at Suzuki, the six-time 250 Champion and five-time 500 Champion were on the Czechoslovakian CZ team together. When Joel left for Team Suzuki, Roger stayed behind, but joined his Belgian countryman in 1971 on the Suzuki team.
