Justin Barcia is the cover boy for the July issue of MXA. We can’t make you go to the news stand to buy the current issue of MXA, but here is a small sampling of the stories that can be found inside it. Everybody knows what it feels like to high-side, but have you ever wondered about the physics involved in taking a ride on the high side? Tech advice is easy to come by, but most of it is wrong. The real answers to your questions can be found in “Ask The MXperts.” Davi has lots of things to say. He is fu…

MOTOCROSS MAYHEM: DUNGEY’S SUZUKI EXPIRES; BARCIA BREAKS MUSQUIN’S THUMB; RATTRAY IS AN UNSTOPPABLE TRAIN

2010 World Champion Marvin Musquin’s American adventure came to an abrupt end at Freestone when Jusitn Barcia’s bike broke his thumb. 15 THINGS WE KNOW ABOUT THE FREESTONE RACE AFTER THE FACT

The gambler is still “all in”… he’s got 10 hands left to play. 1. Chad Reed won the 450 class for the second week in a row. He was aided by the fact that Ryan Dungey’s Suzuki broke, ran out of gas, boiled the fuel or suffered what Suzuki officially called “a fuel problem” (take your pick) while Ryan was 25 seconds ahead of Chad. In an era where bikes don?t break under the watchful eye of factory technicians, Dungey has had some issues this year (thrown chain, blown engine at Daytona and mystery engine…

WHO DID WHAT IN THIS WEEK’S SUPERCROSS CIRCUS? CHAD HAS A BAD NIGHT

Mike Alessi is getting his mojo back. It appears that DeCoster’s advice to Alessi to calm down, relax and take what he can get out of the 2011 Supercross season is paying off. Mike has improved immensely since the season started and looks like he will be ready for the outdoor season to start.                                                  Photo: Hop…

JOHN BASHER’S DAYTONA SUPERCROSS PHOTO GALLERY – VILLOPOTO AND BAGGETT RISE TO THE TOP

Click on the image above to view our Daytona Supercross photo gallery.     It was a wild night in Daytona when James Stewart, while setting a blistering pace, went down like a sack of potatoes. The huge get-off handed the lead to Ryan Villopoto. RV jetted away with his second straight Daytona Supercross win, while Stewart charged into the top ten. A string of brutal crashes have derailed Bubba’s shot at the title, but as the saying goes, it ain?t over ?til the fat lady sings. These remain…

KEVIN WINDHAM WINS GENOA SUPERCROSS TO ADD TO HIS EARLIER OZ VICTORY:

One of the easiest ways for American motocross stars to make extra money is to race in overseas Supercross races. Although these are hardly more than Arenacross races by American standards, the more experienced American riders can get good money up front to draw a crowd. And, even though the actual purse money is sometimes subtracted from the start money?it’s easy pickins. Kevin Windham won in Australia last month and made a quick trip to Genoa, Italy, with Jeremy McGrath and Justin Barcia. Windham won …

ASK THE MXPERTS: HOW FAST ARE THE WOMEN AT THE AMA NATIONALS?

Dear MXA, I saw on a chat room today that the women, most notably Jessica Patterson, were only 5 seconds off the men’s time at Southwick.  I have seen the women race at the Nationals and there is no way they are even close to the men’s time. What’s the truth? Southwick is not a good place to make comparisons from timed qualifying…as Andrew Short found out. The first practice sessions are on a smooth track and the later session are on a rough track. The lap times drop off to the tune of 15 seconds…
