MOTOCROSS ACTION’S MID-WEEK REPORT BY DARYL ECKLUND… FILLING IN FOR JOHN BASHER (9/4/13)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK     As summer screeches to a halt and the mercury starts to dip, think back to those warm months. Remember the boys of motocross as they traveled the country bringing great racing to various tracks. When the snow starts to fly, think not of a long and dreary winter, but of times when sunscreen was necessary and it was still light out long into the night. MINI-VIEW: CHRIS BLOSE     With the season all wrapped up, Chris gave us an overview of how he felt his…

MOTOCROSS ACTION’S MID-WEEK REPORT BY JOHN BASHER (8/7/13)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK     We were tickled pink to receive Honda’s invitation to test out their 2014 CRF125FB at Gorman OHV park last week. Intended for beginners and trail riders, the 125FB (Big Wheel) is a sweet ride. It comes with a front disc brake, along with an electric starter and clutch-actuated four-speed transmission. Of course MXA, being MXA , we couldn’t help ourselves when it came time to blowing up berms. That’s Zach Bierbower pushing the CRF125FB to the limit. FIRST THOUGHTS OF …

2013 X GAMES TV SCHEDULE FOR THE MOTORCYCLE EVENTS

The X Games start on Thursday with the very weak Best whip contest, which is little more than a popularity contest that has nothing to do with who throws the best whip. That is followed by Freestyle.Since Big Air was banned from the air waves after last year’s tragic accidents, Freestyle is the last bastion of the innovation. Friday sees Step-Up and Speed & Style. After several years of medicority, speed suddenly has become inportant in the S&S event. Saturday night, and if you live on the East …

MOTOCROSS ACTION’S MID-WEEK REPORT BY JOHN BASHER (3/13/13)

PHOTO OF THE WEEK     Chris “Brown Dog Wilson” Ganz does an excellent job of capturing the sport through his photography. Here, he gets down where the Daytona sand rests to get a shot of the grainy stuff sitting on the start gate. Very cool. Photo: Brown Dog Wilson MXA MINI-VIEW: DAVE OSTERMAN Dave Osterman. MXA : Despite the numerous crashes, Chad had a good race at Daytona. Dave: Chad isn’t dead yet. He’s a fighter, and he’s a bad dude. Even though Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, Justin Ba…
