THE AFTERMATH: THE PLAYERS AT MXGP OF THE USA

Justin Hill was docked points in the second moto due to cutting the track.

Your 250 GP points leader Pauls Jonass leads Jeremy Seewer by 40 points with two GPs left.

The factory engine of Evgeny Bobryshev’s Honda CRF450.  Looks different than the production 2018 model, doesn’t it?

The twin exhaust TM 250FI of Anton Gole.

The factory Suzuki RM-Z250 of Jeremy Seewer.

The 2018 Honda CRF250 was raced this past weekend by Italian Michele Cervellin. He finished 16th on the day.

Jeremy Seewer finished 4th.

The two factory KTM riders, Jorge Prado (61) and points leader Pauls Jonass (41) in the mud at Saturday’s heat race.

R.J. Hampshire showed the European boys how its done by going 1-1.

Thomas Kjer Olsen should be great in wet sand—he’s from Denmark.

American Thomas Covington won the qualifying race on Saturday. He finished third overall in the 250 class on Sunday.

Loretta Lynn transplant Justin Cooper was 8th in moto one, but his bike failed him in moto two.

Mitchell Harrison was third at the Glen Helen 250 USGP last year and he was fifth this year.

Thomas Covington (64) with the 250 holeshot.

The 250 USGP podium. (From left to right) Australian Hunter Lawrence third, American R.J. Hampshire first and American Thomas Covington third.

Pauls Jonass has led the 250 World Championship since the opening round. Pauls went 10-5 in Florida.

250 GP rookie Hunter Lawrence had his best race-ever at the USGP (on his factory RM-Z250).

The 450 podium Eli Tomac, Jeffrey Herlings and Tony Cairoli.

Max Nagl’s 5-11 was good enough for sixth overall. Max is 8th in 450 GP points.

If performance counts for anything, Justin Barcia’s talk about racing in Europe in the future is now a slim possibility. His 13-15 day didn’t impress any Euro team managers. Jeremy Van Horebeck didn’t do much better with a 10-9.

Romain Febvre had a rough weekend. Romain, who was 450 World Champion two years ago, didn’t score any points in Florida.

Current 450 World Champion Tim Gajser, at least for two more weeks, finished fourth was a 4-7 day.

Glenn Coldenhoff has already renewed his KTM contract for 2018. Glenn went 7-10, but expects to do much better next week in the beach sand his home country.

Tony Cairoli only needs to score a handful of points next week at Assen to clinch his ninth World Championsip. He will be one title short of Stefan Everts GP crown record.

At the start of the first 450 moto Eli Tomac (3) crossed the holeshot line first with Max Nagl (12) not far behind. Tomac would go on to win the first moto by 28 seconds over Herlings and Cairoli

Eli Tomac has only raced three GPs in his career. His moto record for those three races is 1-1-1-1-1-3.

Jeffrey Herlings went 2-1 for the 450 overall. Herlings is 96 points adrift of Tony Cairoli is only 100 points left in the 19-race series.
