THE OFFICIAL WORD FROM KTM! JEFFREY HERLINGS OUT OF MOTOCROSS DES NATIONS

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team has announced that the 2013 MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings will have to sit out the remaining rounds of the current season after fracturing his shoulder blade in a crash during qualifying at the MX GP of Belgium last weekend.

Team boss Stefan Everts said Jeffrey had consulted two different medical specialists, including the renowned expert Dr. Toon Claes and it had been confirmed that in the best situation it will be five to six weeks before he will be unable to ride or train on the bike. “It is disappointing for Jeffrey, the team and certainly for the fans that he will not be able to ride in Matterley Basin and Lierop but occasional injury is an unfortunate part of professional racing. We wish him all the best for a speedy recovery,” Everts commented.

Herlings, who secured his second World Championship MX2 title the previous weekend at Loket, Cezch Republic has had a brilliant season winning all 13 GPs before his accident. He will now have the rest of the season and the offseason period to recuperate and prepare for another assault on his third title at the beginning of the 2014 season.
