THE OFFICIAL WORD FROM KTM: WORLD MOTOCROSS CHAMPION MARVIN MUSQUIN NEEDS SURGERY

Marvin Musquin, KTM’s factory rider and reigning MX2 World Motocross Champion on Friday evening was able to undergo an MRI scan for the right knee injury he incurred at the Paris Bercy Supercross last weekend. Doctors have now confirmed that he will need surgery to correct the ligament damage. Marvin injured his knee on the Saturday of the three day SX event in the Paris Bercy Omnisports Arena when he put his right leg down hard during the race. Doctors said the treatment and therapy that he has had to date means he will be able to undergo the operation sooner than expected, namely on December 6, 2010. After the surgery the French rider will then undergo two weeks of rehabilitation and this will be followed by concentrated physiotherapy and work at home.

It seems obvious that he will not make his USA Supercross debut in January.
