THIS WEEK IN MXA: “I WON THE LAST OUTDOOR RACE”

The 2021 Fox Raceway National 1 is almost here and the riders seem healthy and ready to start another series. In Episode 22 of our ‘This Week in MXA‘ video series presented by O’Neal Racing MXA’s Assistant Editor Josh Mosiman talks to Chase Sexton about his Supercross season and his expectations coming into his second season of Outdoors in the 450 class. If you remember, last year Chase won the 250 East Coast Supercross title and then made the jump from Geico Honda to the HRC Honda 450 team for the Nationals and he was fast right away. By the end of the series, Chase was able to get a win at the Fox Raceway National and now we’re headed back to the same place to kick off the 2021 Pro Motocross season. Chase is very optimistic about his potential for success this summer and he told us that he’s learned a lot about testing the CRF450 and he explained you have to respect the motorcycle more in the 450 class. In the 250 division you can get away with small mistakes, but the bigger bike isn’t as forgiving and we saw some big crashes in Supercross because of that.

Davi Millsaps is back at the track again after his suffered a brutal brain injury in October of 2017 while training from Supercross. We are happy to see him doing well and now offering his knowledge and ideas to young Carson Mumford. Italian MXGP rider Alessandro Lupino is in California to race his first AMA National this weekend and we caught up with him during his first day of riding as well. Ty Masterpool is also excited to Outdoors on his AEO GasGas and he’s been looking fast at the tracks lately.
