450 MAIN: COOPER WEBB EXTENDS HIS LEAD AS THE BIG THREE SHOW THEIR CARDS
It was a big night in Arlington, Texas, as 450 points leader Cooper Webb extended his lead on Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac to 12 and 36 points respectively. Webb holeshot the 450 main with Tomac and Roczen in hot pursuit, but Ken Roczen dropped back as the pace intensified and, eventually, Eli Tomac had to let Cooper Webb go. It was a big chance for the top three to show their cards, but only Webb held a winning hand. Justin Barcia motored up to fourth.
In the 250 West main Hunter Lawrence showed that he is a quicker learner as he took advantage of a duel in front of him make a quick pass that sprung him to his first-ever AMA 250 Supercross win. Meanwhile, behind him, the top contenders were falling by the wayside (and actually falling in the process). Points leader Cameron McAdoo had to hand the Red Plate to Hunter Lawrence after taking a frowned-upon detour—and got penalized three positions for taking the shortcut costing him the points lead. However, the first three are only separated by 2 points. It’s gonna heat up on Saturday night in Texas.
