Maxime Renaux now has a 108-point lead for the 2021 FIM 250 World Championship over Jago Geerts with Mattia Guadagnini one point back in third place, while Jeffrey Herlings (2-1) built a 12-point cushion over Romain Febvre (1-7) and 15 points over Tim Gajser (4-2). With five GPs left Renaux has build up a big enough lead to be two full events ahead of his chasers. It should be noted that the five remaining GPS are all going to be held in Italy and will be compressed into a tight schedule of Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday, Sunday, Wednesday events. It goes without saying that 2021 will be very unusual with 6 of the 18 GP’s held in one county and the final race of the season to be contested on a Wednesday.
