WORLD TWO-STROKE MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP WARM-UP: GLEN HELEN GETS INVADED BY KILLER BEES

Ryan Hughes needs to workout a little to get rid of some of the flab. Yikes! Ryno is ripped. Ryan will be sponsored by GYTR to race a Yamaha YZ144 at the World Two-Stroke Championship. Ryan cranked out plenty of laps today and believes that he can win…and likes his chances on the little bike.

This is Ryno’s YZ144. It features a GYTR exhaust pipe, clutch, blue anodized wheels, 144cc engine kit and lots of other GYTR parts. GYTR’s Trevor Kemp was on hand to make sure that Ryan had whatever he needed before Sunday’s $4500 Pro race.

Bobby Garrison is the defending World Two-Stroke Champion. Bobby is also leading the WORCS series on a Kawasaki. But, for the two-smoke race he signed a one-race deal with Husqvarna and will race the exact same bike he won on last year. He will most likely be sporting the Number One plate

MXA’s Dennis Stapleton will race the Pro class, but he has to be in the Philippines by Tuesday. Stapleton was at Glen Helen on Thursday to check out the new layout for the two-stroke race along with Doug Dubach, Austin Squires, Mike Sleeter, Austin Howell and many other two-stroke racers.

Jamie Lanza will be mounted on MXA’s 300cc Husqvarna, which Zip-Ty Racing has outfitted with Marzocchi forks and a Fox Factory shock. The engine was built by Mitch Payton.

Willy Musgrave isn’t just another Pro racer at the World Two-Stroke Championship, his MTA distributing company is the sponsor and promoter of the race. Here is a racer who puts his money where his mouth is (and races a two-stroke every weekend). Willy will be racing his 2001 Honda CR250.

Women’s National Motocross Champion Jessica Patterson will be Ryan Hughes’ teammate on the GYTR Yamaha team. She has an identical YZ144 to Ryno’s (except with cool faux-2011 blue and white DNA graphics, FMF pipe and 250F swingarm and linkage).

Ty Davis will head up the Husqvarna team of Lanza and Garrison. TM’s Pete Vetrano has also announced that it will field a team for the race also.
