ASK THE MXPERTS: HOW TO CLEAN BOOTS WITHOUT CHASING THEM ACROSS THE YARD
When my brother and I get home from riding and try to wash our boots, they get full of water and spin around the backyard when we hit them with the power washer. Who makes a boot washing rack?
Fly Racing makes a very simple boot washing rack. It is made from steel tubing and holds two boots upside down for washing. The retail price is $25.00.
Do-it-yourselfers, like former Pro Circuit Husqvarna rider Mike Monaghan, can make their own boot washing rack with a wooden sawhorse and sections of 4-inch PVC pipe and their end caps. Screw the end caps to the top of the sawhorse and glue a section of 4-inch PVC tubing down into it. Then, glue a cap on the top. Voila! A homemade boot washing rack. Unfortunately, it will probably cost more than $25.00 to make (unless you have an old sawhorse around the house).
