ASK THE MXPERTS: LOOKING FOR A CHEAP BOOT WASHING RACK

This is a home-made boot washing rack that consists of a wooden saw horse and some PVC tubing.

SPINNING BUCKETS OF WATER

Dear MXA,

When my brother and I get home from riding and try to wash our boots, they get full of water and spin around the backyard when we hit them with the power washer. Who makes a boot washing rack?

The fly boot washing rack holds two boots upside down and folds up when not in use.

Fly Racing makes a very simple boot washing rack. It is made from steel tubing and holds two boots upside down for washing. The retail price is $25.00, but do-it-yourselfers can make a boot washing rack with a wooden sawhorse and sections of 4-inch PVC pipe and their end caps. Screw the end caps to the top of the sawhorse and glue a section of 4-inch PVC tubing down into it. Then, glue a cap on the top. Voila! A homemade boot washing rack. Unfortunately, it will probably cost more than $25.00 to make (unless you have an old sawhorse around the house). Additionally, orange traffic cones will work in a pinch.
