BEST IN THE PITS | 2021 HOUSTON SUPERCROSS
The 2021 Houston Supercross 3 has officially arrived and with the top eight riders in the 450SX Point Standings being separated by only 7-points, everyone is excited to see who will come out on top. Currently Justin Barcia leads, but that originally wasn’t the case. Ken Roczen should’ve had the points lead after Round 2 on Tuesday, but his 4-point penalty for jumping on a red cross flag dropped him back to fifth in the standings, 3-points behind Barcia. Amazingly, even after he had an injury in December and missed valuable time for training and experience on his new 450, Dylan Ferrandis sits second in the points standings, only 1-point behind Justin Barcia after finishing seventh and second at the first two Rounds. The 36-year-old veteran, Justin Brayton is tied with Marvin Musquin for third in the standings, 2-points back. Ken Roczen sits fifth, 3-points back. After his 13th and first place finishes, Eli Tomac is sixth in the standings, 4-points back with Malcolm Stewart seventh, 6-points back and Cooper Webb eighth, 7-points back. It truly is a wild time to be a Supercross fan and we can only hope that the racing continues to provide the same levels of excitement we’ve seen at the first two Rounds. In MXA’s Brian Converse is in Houston, Texas, for Round 3 and he showed up to the NRG Stadium on Friday to get into the pits early to give everyone a glimpse at what’s going on behind the scenes of Supercross.

The shape of Malcolm Stewart’s YZ450F is pretty wild. Not only does the seat have a big dip in it, but the air box cover looks custom as well because it rises up higher than the stock cover which would allow more air into the air box and increase power.
Sadly, Chase Sexton will be missed this Saturday after his crash while leading the 450SX Main Event on Tuesday injured his shoulder. Click here to learn more.
Dylan Ferrandis’ Star Racing Yamaha YZ450F. Nobody expected Dylan to be sitting second in the 450SX Point Standings after Round 2, not even Dylan! He was very surprised after his second place on Tuesday, but we don’t think it will be his last time on the podium this season, Dylan was going fast.
