BRITAIN TO BAN TEAR-OFFS

Because of environmental concerns, the British ACU have announced their decision to prohibit the use of “tear offs” in all ACU Trials and Enduro events starting on January 1, 2015. Following the decision of the ACU Trials and Enduro Committee, the ACU Motocross Committee have also taken the decision to prohibit the use of tear-off’s at all ACU Motocross events starting on January 1, 2016. Motocross gets a one year later starting date because it is more difficult to clean up a long enduro loop than a basic motocross track.

There are several solutions to this ban: (1) Since there are biodegradable tear-offs available on the market, the ACU could easily allow a substitution for the current tear-offs. (2) Roll-Offs are the next logical step.
