DEAN WILSON DOMINATES REM GLEN HELEN AGAIN

DAwilson1Dean Wilson (15) has been using the weekly REM races to help rehab his just-repaired knees. He has raced as many REM races this year as he has AMA 450 Nationals. Dean believes that the best practice for racing is racing. Photo: Dan Alamangos

Dean Wilson came to the local REM motocross races at Glen Helen because he knew it would be tough. Dean only has three 450 Nationals left to make a dent and he has been using the REM motocross races to give him the workout he is looking for. It was hot at the Glen Helen motocross track this weekend. In fact, it has been hot at Glen Helen every weekend through June and July—as the triple digit temperatures just seem to be unshakable. Dean, who has missed most of the last two seasons with knee injuries, not only raced the 450 Pro class, but he came back to ride a second class  just to get in more riding time in the sweltering heat.

Dean took the 450 Pro win with a 1-1. His 1-1 sweep was duplicated by Justin Hoeft in the 250 Pro class, Gavin Leachman in the 250 Intermediates, Robert Reisinger in the Over-50 Experts, Abdulatif Arkhanna in the 250 Beginners, Cade Matherly in the 250 Novices, Tristan Miller in the 450 Novices, Bill Reimer in the Over-40 Novices, Ralf Schmidt in the Over-40 Intermediates, Will Harper in the Over-60 Experts and Jody Weisel in the Over-60 Intermediates.
