DREAM JOBS: HOW TO MAKE A LIVING DOING WHAT YOU LOVE (10/26/11)

CH
AD “CHAPPY” WARNER
KAWASAKI TRANSPORT SPECIALIST

STARTING POINT:
“I became a mechanic when my own racing career didn’t work out. I had some time off from work and got my truck driving license. Kawasaki was looking for a truck driver, and I was already a mechanic. I drove the first Team Green semi and became a mechanic/truck driver/motor builder.”

THE JOB:
“The best part of the job is driving the race team semis. It’s a big piece of equipment that’s really cool, and no one gets to touch it. I drive the Team Green amateur motocross semi and the professional offroad team’s semi to Endurocross and WORCS series races. I’m responsible for keeping the Kawasaki truck on the road and making sure it’s stocked with the right parts. I have to get to the races on time, set up the truck and keep it presentable. It’s a big billboard for all our sponsors, and the truck is a focal point.”
