250 QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2023 OAKLAND SUPERCROSS

The 250 West coast division is back to the races this weekend in Northern California at the Oakland Alameda Country coliseum. Jett Lawrence is the points leader, carrying the momentum in the 250 class, but Levi Kitchen is coming in hot off his Triple Crown win at Anaheim 2 and he’s looking to back up his win with another great finish to prove that his first win wasn’t a fluke.

The track is steep and technical today at the 2023 Oakland Supercross. There’s one long, continuous rhythm section with a bend in it around home base and there are two long rhythm sections, separated by a long 8-whoop dragon’s back.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Jett Lawrence 2023 Oakland Supercross-4627Jett Lawrence qualifies quickest.

The track was groomed before the second qualifying session today and that helped the riders drop their times in the second qualifying session. Still, Dirt Wurx was only able to groom one set of whoops and the dragon’s back. They didn’t groom the second set of whoops, which caused issues for the riders right away. Cameron McAdoo has a unique line through the turning rhythm section where he ends the rhythm with a single before the triple, but it still looks fast. Also, Cameron is standing all the way through the corner before the whoops, which helps him stay balanced on the bike, weighting the pegs evenly going into the long whoop section.

Enzo Lopes was second fastest in the first qualifying session, but he was off the pace in the second logging a 1:05.9 which put him 11th fastest in that session.

Levi Kitchen 2023 Oakland Supercross-4394Levi Kitchen was the sixth fastest rider in the first qualifying session.

The track is gnarly today in Oakland, even Jett Lawrence said that this is one of the gnarliest tracks he’s ridden. He also said, “let’s just make it through the day, because the track is tough and it’s going to be even gnarlier for the Main Event.” Everyone is making mistakes today, we’ve seen Jett, RJ Hampshire, Pierce Brown, Cameron McAdoo, and more all make costly mistakes in the whoop sections.
