The 2023 Arlington Supercross is officially here and all the truck drivers are fatigued from their multiple cross-country treks back and forth from East to West and back. The series is back in Texas, once again, after racing in Oakland last weekend, Tampa the weekend before, and Houston the weekend before that. The Arlington Supercross is also the return of the 250SX East division, after a short one-weekend off. And, the 250 Supercross Futures riders are back at it this weekend as well, only Haiden Deegan and Talon Hawkins are in the class anymore, as they both have advanced to the Pro ranks.

2023Four green bikes for two riders, ready for the Arlington Triple Crown. At a traditional Supercross, each rider is only allowed to pass one bike through tech inspection. Because of the short turnaround between points-paying Main Events, each rider is allowed to have a spare bike at the Triple Crown formatted races, to ensure they can make the next race safely if they have a bike issue in the middle of the night show.

Arlington 2023 Supercross_Eli TomacFun Fact: Arlington was a Triple Crown in 2020 in which Eli Tomac won the last two races and the overall. Arlington hosted three rounds during the 2021 pandemic host site season and it was a clean sweep by eventual champion Cooper Webb. 2022 was another Arlington Triple Crown round and Tomac pulled the reverse sweep by going 3-2-2 to take the overall, the only time a 450SX Class Triple Crown event was won by a rider without winning a race. 2023 will be another Triple Crown and the fourth year in-a-row AT&T Stadium will host three races one way or another.

Arlington 2023 Supercross_Colt Nichols Colt Nichols and his girlfriend arriving to the track for press day. Colt was impressive with a sixth at Anaheim 1, but he’s been dealing with a pulled groin since then. We expect him to continue to improve his results as he gets more comfortable in the 450 class.

Arlington 2023 Supercross_Haiden DeeganAfter two races, Haiden Deegan has two fourth-place finishes, a Heat race win, and he’s third in the 250SX East coast standings. It’s safe to say that everyone is impressed.

Arlington 2023 Supercross_Evan FerryRemember Evan Ferry? Tim Ferry’s son? He previously rode for the Rockstar Husqvarna team as an amateur, then left the team and did some tryouts with Star Racing Yamaha before ending up on a privateer, YZ250F. There are rumors that he’s been testing with the Triumph crew on their secret new 250F, but he’s racing this weekend on a Romney Cycles Yamaha YZ250F in the Supercross Futures amateur class.

Arlington 2023 Supercross_Daxton BennickStar Racing amateur rider, Daxton Bennick, won the 250 Supercross Futures class at Anaheim 2. He’s ready for more at Arlington.

Arlington 2023 Supercross_Henry Miller This is only the second race of the season for the 250SX East division, but Henry Miller raced the first three races of the year at Anaheim 1, San Diego, and Anaheim 2, in the 450 class, on his CRF250. It was a smart way to get more seat time in the stadiums before his series started.

Arlington 2023 Supercross_Benny Bloss Benny Bloss is one of the only privateer riders using the new, 2023 Yamaha YZ450F. Because the bike arrived so late in the year, Benny didn’t get a lot of time to ride it before the season started.
