FUEL TV IS OUT OF GAS… THERE IS ONLY ONE WEEK BEFORE IT SPUTTERS TO A STOP

Fuel is dead (at least it will be on August 17). It will become Fox Sports 2 on that day. Well, maybe it will be Fox Sports 1. What is is Fox Sports 1? It is America’s newest sports network. There will also be a Fox Sports 2. What is it? Fox Sports 2 is an extension of Fox Sports 1. Kind of like ESPN 2. You will most like get Fox Sports 1 on the same cable channel that your friendly local provider currently uses for the Speed Channel. Where will the Speed Channel move to? To the television version of the dumpster. Speed is dead. Fuel is dead. Fox Sports 1 and 2 will replace them.

What will Fox Sports 1 show? Mainly UFC Fights, including pre-fight show, prelims, main fights and “UFC Tonight.” Plus it will show “The Ultimate Fighter,” UFC’s signature reality series, and Fox Sports 1 will also air other UFC-related programming through the course of the year including “UFC Unleashed” and “UFC Ultimate Insider.”

That’s great, but what will happen to the shows on Fuel TV? Fuel will be relabel as Fox Sports 2 and some of the programs that ran on Fuel TV will carry over to Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2, including the Red Bull X-Fighters World Freestyle Motocross Tour and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships.

What will happen to the Speed Channel shows? Fox Sports 1 say that it has a major commitment to motorsports programming with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series; plus NASCAR RaceDay, NASCAR Victory Lane and NASCAR RaceHub. The good news for motorcycle fans is that it will show the Monster Energy Supercross series and MotoGP World Championship.

Speed Channel officially becomes Fox Sports 1 at 6:00 a.m. (Eastern time) on August 17 and Fuel will make the switch to Fox Sports 2 at the same time.
