GASGAS MXGP TEAM SIGNS PAULS JONAS AND BRIAN BOGERS FOR 2021

2017 250 World Champion Pauls Jonass signs on the dotted line for 2021

Hard-charging former FIM 250 World Champion Pauls Jonass will team up with Dutch rider Brian Bogers on the Standing Construct GasGas Factory team. A proven MXGP racer, Jonass entered the Grand Prix scene in 2014 and rapidly progressed to become 250 World Champion in 2017. Pauls moved to the 450 class in 2019to finish an impressive sixth place in the final 2019 450 Grand Prix standings. Unfortunately, in 2020 Jonas suffered a bad crash that ended his season early. Almost completely rehabilitated , Pauls is ready to bang bars when the gate drops for the start of the 2021 season.

Pauls Jonass said, “I’m really excited for my future with GasGas. I have to thank the Standing Construct team for believing in me while I have been injured, but I will be back to 100%. I’m looking forward to a great future together with GASGAS and I look forward to achieving some great results when the 2021 season starts.”

Competing alongside Pauls Jonass is Brian Bogers. Currently ranked 12th in the 2020 450 World Championship, the Dutchman is aiming for a top tn before the 2020 season is over for the top-10 in the final MXGP standings, Bogers, like his new teammate, will soon head into the off-season focused on testing and preparation ahead of the new MXGP season. Brian Bogers said: “It’s a great feeling to be on the Standing Construct GasGas team for 2021. I’m really looking forward to next season as I know the team is very professional and the bike is great. They have had impressive results over recent years, so it gives me a lot of confidence. It’s an exciting opportunity. I’ve had a strong season in 2020 and I’m ready for the next step with GasGas in 2021.”

Reading bewteen the lines, it is obvious that Glenn Coldenhoff will no longer be with GasGas, and is rumored to have a Yamaha deal lined-up for 2021.
