GRAND PRIX OF TRENTINO #1 RESULTS: HERLINGS WINS 450 ITALIAN GP

Jeffrey Herlings could break the total GP win record if he wins three of the four rounds left.

KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings is one step closer to tieing Stefan Everts’ 100 Grand Prix victories record thanks to a 1-1 day at the first of three races in Trentino. Herlings needs 3 more wins to tie the record and there are 4 races left in the 2021 450 GP season. Herlings extended his points lead over Romain Febvre to 22 points. Current 450 World Champion Tim Gajser is third (27 points behind Herlings).

In bad news Tony Cairoli was involved in a first lap crash in moto one and pulled into the pits with an injured leg. He tried to race the second moto, but only went 5 laps before pulling off the track. Tony’s 2021 title hopes are almost assuredly over as he only has until Wednesday before the next Grand Prix of Trentino. Tony is now 136 points behind Herlings.
