PRE-SANTA CLARA ROUNDUP

What would you do with a week off of work? Soak up some rays, catch up on your favorite shows or maybe your a work-o-colic that can’t stay get away from that daily grind. To be on top of your game in Professional motocross there is no such thing as a weekend off during the season. If they aren’t in the stadiums or at the track they are in the gym or outdoors training. With Supercross taking a week break last week many of the riders came out to California to get some outdoor testing in at Glen Helen. Mike Alessi even came out and raced the World Two-Sroke National aboard a RM-250 sweeping both moto wins.

Ryan Dungey entered the break with five race wins with his worst finish a 3rd. Dungey has a dominant 39 point lead over Ken Roczen and 53 points over Jason Anderson who sits third. The 250 East/West classes are unfolding very different from each other. The East has another week break until Indy with no standout contender for the title. Out West, Cooper Webb and Joey Savagty are within 11 points of each other with two races to go. Christian Craig is a long shot in third.

It is predicted that James Stewart and Justin Barcia will return to the show this weekend. That should add some firepower to the 450 class. However, Chrsitophe Pourcel who expressed hope that he would be back from his neck injury this week, will not race in Santa Clara.
