The 1187cc Moto Morini Corsaro 1200. It produces a claimed 138 horsepower.

Amid rumors that they are under going a voluntary liquidation, Italian manufacturer Moto Morini wants to make clear that this is not the same as “bankruptcy” in the USA. It was initially reported that they hadn’t paid the employees salaries o r the suppliers bills, but Moto Morini claims that it has paid all salaries owed to its 65 staff, but they do admit that the parts suppliers will continue to go unpaid.

Moto Morini is currently in negotiation with potential investors and Moto Morini says that the voluntary liquidation was a legal step to avoid having to pay suppliers, who have been unpaid since June. Under Italian law, suppliers now have no right to bring a criminal action against the company for not paying their invoices.


The 2009 Moto Morini Scrambler is equipped with the Bialbero CorsaCorta 1187 cc twin-cylinder engine designed by Franco Lambertini.

Most Americans only remember Moto Morini as an engine supplier for small displacement minicycle engines?especially 50cc automatic engines for Indian and Italjet Pee-Wee’s, but in Italy Moto Morini has sold over 2000 bikes a year (many of them large displacement).
