It is quite hard to imagine the four time AMA champion Jeff Emig riding anything but a Kawasaki. Sure he won his first championship aboard a Yamaha but his most memorable battles with Jeremy McGrath, Ezra Lus and Mike LaRocco were atop the green machine. Times are changing as Emig has now become an official brand ambassador for the re-emerging Husqvarna brand. While Husky is one of the oldest brands in the sport they were edged out by Japanese brand in the 1980’s. After a handful of transfers, Austrian manufacturer KTM acquired the brand from automaker BMW and has revived the brand. See the press release below.

PRESS RELEASE: Husqvarna Motorcycles is proud to announce its partnership with AMA Motorcycles Hall of Fame racer and industry icon Jeff Emig. Emig will focus on supporting the brand’s initiatives, projects and products. Emig brings with him a broad range of experience as both a former championship-winning racer and a professional broadcast commentator. His appeal to the Husqvarna brand, recognition as a skilled professional, and enthusiasm for seeing continued industry success make Emig a perfect spokesperson for the brand.


The timing of this new partnership aligns perfectly with the recent formation of the United States Motorcycle Coaching Association (USMCA); a not-for-profit organization founded by industry professionals who came together for the greater good of the industry, the sport, the coach and the rider. Emig’s primary focus as a brand ambassador is to engage on behalf of Husqvarna with the USMCA. The creation of the USMCA is aimed at lowering the barriers to entry for new motorcyclists, enhancing the safety of riders, setting standards of best practices and raising the overall level of professionalism in the motorcycle industry.
