JOHN DOWD SWEEPS BRITISH VETERANS MOTOCROSS DES NATIONS

Farleigh Castle.

The American team of John Dowd, Guy Cooper, Sean Kalos and an injured Doug Dubach finished 1st (Dowd), 11th (Kalos), 13th (Cooper) and 22nd (Dubach) in the rain at Farleigh Castle on Evo bikes. Dubach raced with broken ribs that have still not attached since his Mammoth crash. Former Grand Prix star Josh Coppins was second overall for New Zealand, while Jean-Michael Bayle was fifth, Gordon Crockard eighth, Jacky Vimond 20th and Fredric Bolley 28th.

After his massive injuries suffered in June at Mammoth Mountain, Doug Dubach went against doctor’s orders and went to England. He said that he would just putt around, but even with broken ribs he finished 11th three times and DNFed one moto. Photo: Adam Duckworth/Moto

Jean versus John. It had to be a thrill for John Dowd (7) to race and pass Jean-Michel Bayle (61). Vet and vintage races are about having fun?and when you combine old riders and old bikes you double the equation. Photo: Adam Duckworth/Moto
