MOTOCROSS ACTION MID-WEEK REPORT
#WHIPITWEDNESDAY
Rider: Joey Savatgy
Though you can only see the oil drain bolt in this photo the pilot Joey Savatagy seemlessly whips over this jump. Joey has always been a top-level rider from the Red Bull Jams days racing at Lake Whitney to title hopes with Pro Circuit in Supercross. A very methodical and respectful racer Joey is one of the kindest riders on the track, I’m sure you remember the “let by” at the Monster Energy Cup that allowed Eli Tomac (and a fan) to each take home the million-dollar prize. Joey also was in a Championship battle with Zach Osborne back in 2017 when the race ended dramatically with Zach took Joey’s line away in the final corner of the race, ultimately taking down Joey in the process. The Championship would go to Osborne, but respectfully Savatgy accepted the defeat and the mistakes made and did not push a dramatic ending to the season. Moving forward it’s nice to see Joey fighting for top positions in the World Supercross and will be interesting to see how he plays out the next season.
TEAM USA WINS SIX-DAY ISDE IN ARGENTINA
After six grueling days of racing Team USA was able to come away with the 2023 Six-Day ISDE enduro with dominating fashion. Riders Taylor Robert, Dante Oliveira, Johnny Girroir, and Cole Martinez win the World Trophy. Dry and dusty for the first four days of racing, riders faced a bit of precipitation on day five shaking things up. Team USA stayed calm and collected and showed consistency through each day of racing which in turn they were able to walk away with the win.
40th SUPERCROSS DE PARIS
The action-packed weekend as Supercross de Paris has its 40th year of racing. A lot of riders who will be racing in the upcoming AMA Supercross series packed their bags and head to France. Cooper Webb will be racing his first Supercross back on the Yamaha brand and we will be seeing the Lawrence brothers in attendance as well. This will be Hunter’s first race in the 450 class and the first official Supercross event in the 450 class for Jett. Ken Roczen was last year’s champion and has a chance to repeat it again this year.
