Motocross is a sport of inches. Take New Yorker Phil Dowell (23) and South African Alan Julien (70) at REM Glen Helen last Saturday. They came around the corner before this drop-off side-by-side, they crested the lip in perfect unison and then “whammo!” Phil got a mega dirt bath, while Alan was left to wonder where his competition went.
